Résumé : | The risk of suicide in is high in patients with psychotic episodes and even higher in adolescents. Associations have been found between various risk factors and the increased risk of suicide. Some are present in all studies (e.g., past psychiatric history or number of psychiatric admissions, depressive symptoms) and others are more controversial (e.g., sex, active positive or negative psychotic symptoms). The risk of suicide is greater in younger patients, with depressive symptoms associated with psychotic episode. The greatest risk is in the early stages of the disorder, before the first admission or contact with health services, although these are also periods of great risk. Subsequently, the risk decreases. Future research is needed to overcome the methodological limitations of current studies (more RCTs are needed). [résumé d'auteur] |
